Type B Residual Current Device 63A 30mA 4P 400V — Schneider Acti9 iID

The Acti9 iID from Schneider Electric is a four-pole residual current device designed to protect people in three-phase 400V electrical installations. With a 30mA sensitivity rating, it meets the requirements of the NF C 15-100 standard and provides reliable protection against insulation faults and indirect contact.

Why Type B rather than Type AC or A?

Type B is distinguished by its ability to detect all forms of residual currents: standard AC currents, pulsating DC currents, smooth DC currents and high-frequency currents. This versatility makes it essential in modern installations, particularly for electric vehicle charging stations (EVSE), photovoltaic inverters, industrial variable speed drives and any electronic equipment likely to generate DC components.

EVSE use and three-phase charging

When installing a three-phase charging station rated at 11 or 22 kW, the use of a Type B residual current device is mandatory whenever the charging station does not have its own certified 6mA DC detection. This 63A model is suitable for the most common three-phase charging configurations.

SI Class — Super Immunised

The SI version provides enhanced resistance to transient overvoltages and network disturbances, significantly reducing the risk of nuisance tripping. It is particularly well suited to commercial, industrial or environments with a high density of electronic equipment.
